So when we arrived in Branson I was excited. It is such a family friendly town and I got a second wind at touring around. We also needed to hunker down for the perfect storm ahead: two birthdays and Easter.
When we arrived in town on Good Friday, I scouted out the nearest (only) passion play in town. Not the best I’ve ever seen and something we could have done anywhere.
The next day was Zoe’s birthday. I took everyone to the movies. Yes, we can also do movies anywhere but it was IMAX so….
Easter at the local Church (where they gave me a book on marriage as a first time guest after specifically checking the “widowed” box which normally they don’t have on those forms but I’m not bitter at all). It was actually a cool Church. It was cold and yucky so all the plans I had for the day went out the window and we stayed inside all day. So three days in Branson and we had done nothing we couldn’t do somewhere else.
Monday came, we did a short cave tour and I went to a few wineries by the RV park. (Unfortunately I forgot to eat or drink water that day). We went into town to walk around and…I had to spend the rest of the night in bed because of a dehydration headache. Yep, I don’t know how to take care of my body at all. I had told the kids we could leave the next day if they cleaned up. A certain person in the RV is desperate to get home so they furiously cleaned, and then told me it was my birthday present…and then got mad at me for not taking them to dinner for my birthday because I was sick. On the other hand, another child tried to wake me up to give me a present. I told her we’d have to wait until the next day, so she was devastated and later told me I broke her heart (or something similar). Moral of the story: do not get sick on your own birthday because it’s not about you.
Then we drove to Eureka Springs to see the giant Jesus.
Blessings:
- I’ve outlived Adam by two years?
- Certain kids really really love me
- The dog also really loves me (although has peed on my bed twice in the last few weeks, so maybe not)
- We are that much closer to getting home
- No current breakdowns in the RV
- When I get one of my (as my mother called them) “sick headaches”, my kids can take care of themselves (third one of the trip!)
Harmony’s Corner
When we were driving to get to our campground I saw Branson looked like sooooo much fun (like race car games arcades the country or worlds tallest spinning rollercoaster). Zoe’s birthday was coming up. I was gonna give her a chipotle gift card because she loves chipotle and we couldn’t find one so I gave her $10 and told her to only use it on Chipotle. Then my moms birthday came up and drew her a hot air balloon and taped a fake pocket on the drawing and put $5 inside of the little fake pocket.
The 10 and Under team of softball wouldn’t respond to me so now I’m on the 12 and under team. I’m a little nervous because when we get home I have to get braces and they pull your mouth open.
Amazing Things Happening:
– Coming Home This up Coming Sunday
-I’m on a 12 And Under Team For Softball
-This amazing trip my mom and God have provided us.
Not So Good Things:
-I’m missing two practices for softball and that’s a big deal for me.
-Bear Bear ate my Chocolate covered peep
-I didn’t get a chocolate bunny Zoe and Caleb don’t like them I’m pretty sure
I can’t sit in the front seat in Kansas because they changed the rules it used to be 9+ and now it’s 13+
